Register my child for Messiah Sunday School!

At Messiah Lutheran Church, we use "Firelight" Sunday School Rotational Curriculum from Augsburg Fortress.  We would love to have you come join us worship and have your children participate in our Sunday School program.  Beginning in September every year, our Christian Education Hour is from 9am to 10am.  At the same time as Sunday School we have an Adult Forum program that parents might be interested in, or children 12-13 years old can participate in our Confirmation Class.  Worship is at 10:15am, and is a family friendly service, including a children’s sermon and child care is available.  Below is our Sunday School program curriculum for the 2007-2008 school year, and you can click HERE for brief description of the five units we covered during the year. Our program is a rotational style of learning, and will spend 4 weeks covering different topics. Our program is a rotational style of learning, and will spend 4 weeks covering each unit from a different approach: Here’s the Story, Here’s the Theme, The Story and Me, and The Story and My Church. Our hope is that as the children complete the Firelight curriculum through Sunday School, they will be equipped to live out their faith in their homes, their schools, their neighborhoods, and their world.

After each unit is completed, we will have a Celebration Sunday.  This will be a pancake breakfast during the usual Christian Education hour, and is open to your entire family and the congregation.  Our goal of the Celebration Sunday is to be able to share what we learned during the unit and provide fellowship among all the age levels of our Christian Education programs.  For some of the Celebration Sundays, we will sing songs we have learned during the 10:15am worship service.
